Asphalt play area beyond repair.  Group consensus that it needed replacement.  Depressed areas need leveling.

Pedroia and Sons noted that it has probably not been sealed/coated in 10 years and that it should ideally be sealed/coated every 5 years or so, depending on the conditions.  Also noted that this site would be a candidate for “grind and place” resurfacing.

Nick Boral noted that last HVAC project was school purchased/contractor installed.  Blank asked him if this best practice was school policy, and he said it was a case-by-case decision, as in some smaller projects it might not be worth the school furnishing the material.  Throughout the day’s tour, Boral was notably concerned with liability and how district assumes liabilities when it assumes certain decisions.
